Summertime Rhythm
Summer is SUPER FUN; full of adventures, friends, late nights with fireflies, river swimming, creemees, hikes and I am sure MUCH, Much more. Can you maintain ALL this FUN and not be exhausted? RHYTHM, rhythm and more simple rhythms. These are my thoughts and suggestions to caring for children in a healthy and yet FUN way.
Create Your Summer similar to the Morning Gardens Rhythm with ONE open ended ACTIVITY and ONE regular SNACK:
Monday is... A specific open ended Activity (Library Day or Hiking day, or ...Art Day, or maybe Cooking/baking Day) and MAYBE the same SNACK (baking day, crackers, bread, or maybe it's smoothy day, soup day, etc...
Tuesday is... Adventure Day, or
Wednesday Beach day with Friends and a picnic
Thursday, Friday, Etc....etc... Etc... Then perhaps ... The weekend is the weekend?
Oh... And when "Behaviors" become tricky, find a children's BOOK to read that may address the attitude or behavior. For instance, The Little Red Hen (if you don'y help you may not get the reward). The Little Boy Who Cried Wolf. The Bernstein Bears ARE always fun and to the point; like the GIMMIES.
Have Fun with it Creating YOUR Summer Rhythm; BUT, most of all try to stick to it! I think that this will help out with the "crazies" for all. I need to create a rhythm too. We all do it just helps. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this and later. I will be wondering if it was helpful.
